ABSTRACT: This research explores strategies for addressing equity and inclusion in access to vocational education, aiming to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their background, have the opportunity to benefit from vocational training. The objectives were to (1) identify the barriers to equitable access to vocational education, (2) evaluate the effectiveness of current policies and practices in promoting inclusion, and (3) propose strategies to enhance equity and inclusion in vocational training programs. A survey design was utilized to gather insights from students, educators, and policy makers, offering a comprehensive perspective on the current state of vocational education access. The sample size consisted of 220 participants, selected through a purposive sampling technique to include a diverse group with firsthand experience and knowledge of equity and inclusion issues. The case study focused on Enugu State, Nigeria, an area with diverse demographic and socio-economic backgrounds. Findings indicated that significant barriers such as socio-economic status, gender, and geographical location hinder equitable access to vocational education. Effective policies and practices identified included scholarship programs, community outreach initiatives, and inclusive curriculum development. Recommendations emphasized the need for targeted financial support, the development of inclusive educational policies, and the creation of support networks for underrepresented groups to enhance their access to vocational education.
